Pursuit of happiness

What is happiness? Can anyone define it? I think probably not. Because I think the term happiness is very much misleading, It is subjective and it means different to different people depending upon circumstances. Most of the time we are sad not because of our sorrows but because of joys of others. So we can’t say that the term can absolutely be defined. In most of the cases it is relatively defined, I am not saying that this is 100% true but I can give assurance that because of the characteristics of human nature this held true for many cases.

What are the reasons behind one’s happiness, there may be several reasons behind one’s happiness but I think that most important reason is “Ignorance”. As I said there may be some other reasons too contributing one’s happiness but ignorance affects one’s state of being happy a lot. We can have a example like when we were kid we used to laugh more than 300 times a day as we grew older we forget to laugh even 30 times a day, as a kid we were so ignorant that we had no idea that what is good or bad? What is right or wrong? But we had feeling of purity but as we grew older that purity got vanished. In our real life’s we are so happy till we are not aware of the things but because of human nature as we start exploring the things problems start coming in our life’s and our life become so miserable in most of the cases that we are not able to overcome those problems. Because due to the human nature we always tend to have everything in our life and we want best for ourselves no matter what we are delivering?  But we want best. We want to have every luxury in our life, which a person in front of us can afford. Our priorities in life are defined somewhat by others, if my neighbor is coming via Mercedes than my perception becomes why I shall not?

I am not saying that we shall not look forward I am saying that regarding defining our goals in our life we have to be little bit realistic.

Most of times when we get appreciation from others for the work we have done we used be happy and also for the unexpected gains we continually to be in the state of happiness and vice versa. I have mentioned the term “unexpected gains” in the previous line, I think we used to be in the state of happiness when we gain something unexpectedly. So does this mean that if we really narrow down our expectations or shrink down do we really able to get the victory over our sorrows? Well answer is “Yes” as well said in “srimad bhagwat gita” also that

“ka-rma-Nye-vA-dhi-kA-ra-ste
mA pha-le-SHu ka-dA-cha-na |
mA ka-rma-pha-la-he-tu-rbhUh
mA-te sa-N^go-stva-ka-rma-Ni ||II-47||”

Means you have control only over action, never over the outcome. Let outcome be not the cause of action and let there be no inclination in you for inaction.

At the end I would like to conclude that we as human being are here in this world for a cause let’s find out that cause rather than running or chasing behind the things which had no end or I would like to say that they are so vast that we used to spend our whole life chasing them and forget our main purpose of life. Be realistic while defining your goals and offer your life to GOD. He has sent us here to complete some task find out & complete that task that can only let you happy forever and lead to end of this pursuit of happiness.
